Parent/Player Volleyball Skills Challenge Information
This year will be the second annual Skills Challenge. This
year all money that players raise will go directly to their club dues. Player will take their forms and can ask parents,
friends, teachers, family members, businesses, etc. for sponsorship for this event. There is a letter attached below
to help them with what to say when requesting sponsorship. They can call, e-mail or ask personally for sponsorship.
All players and parents are expected to participate in the event
on Wednesday, January 20th from 6-8 p.m. We are going to ask families to bring food/drink to share during the event.
Players and parents will execute the skills of passing, setting and serving. There will be 3 stations for scoring the
skills. Each player and parent will score points when serving, passing or setting to a target. Scores will be
recorded out of a possible 10 points. The parent scoring the highest from their team will win a prize as will the high
scoring player from each team. Most importantly, you are competing for bragging rights for the rest of the season with
your daughter/parent.

Fund-raising:
Each team will be expected to set a goal of raising $1,000 to lower
the cost of the program. Each team will have a parent representative who will work with the club's fund-raising chair
to create opportunities. This will include opportunities for individuals to lower their costs as well. Everyone
will be asked to take part in the club's two major fund-raisers: The Parent/Player Volleyball Skills Challenge and The
Lightning Golf Tournament.
SPONSORSHIPS: A lot of you have been asking about sponsorship letters and sponsorship fees.
A sponsorship letter has been placed on the website on the Navigation Bar under Forms. We do ask
that all athletes use this form letter when asking for sponsorship fees from businesses or family members.
If you have a business and are paying for your athlete's fees and wish to use it as a Non-Profit Tax Write-off or Advertising
Expense, the fees must be paid with a Business Check or Business Credit Card.
Lightning Volleyball
Club is a Non-Profit Organization.
